Octubre, 06 al 10: Cultura afro-costarricense

A inicios del siglo XX, llegaron los primeros emigrantes jamaiquinos a Costa Rica y con ellos trajeron una variedad de costumbres que enriquecieron la cultura de nuestro país.

Cerca del 12 de octubre, el Día de las culturas, la ciudad de Limón celebra anualmente sus carnavales; por lo que es la ocasión propicia para dar a conocer esta cultura a los estudiantes y permitirles experimentar de cerca sus colores, ropa, música y sabores, así como las bellezas escénicas que hacen del caribe costarricense un paraíso natural.

October 06th – 10th: Afro-costarricense sub-culture

At the beginning of the XX century, the first Jamaican immigrants arrived to Costa Rica, and with them they brought a variety of traditions that have enriched the culture of our country.

Close to the 12th of October,” Culture Day”; the city of Limon annually celebrates its carnivals which is the perfect time for our students to learn about the Caribbean culture, they will see for themselves the colors, clothes, music and tastes, as well as the scenic beauties that make the Costa Rican's Caribbean coast a natural paradise.
